The program is considered a perpetual part of the CID’s work program.


The purpose of the Cumberland CID Maintenance Program is to provide a standard level of continuous care for the landscaping enhancements installed by the CID.
  • Priority areas are “gateways” into the district, interchanges, and roadways with traffic counts of more than 10,000 vehicles per day.
  • Removes approximately 37 tons of trash and litter on an annual basis.
  • maintains medians in high-traffic areas.
  • Maintenance of approximately 20 linear miles of roadway.
  • Designated clean-ups of the I-75/I-285 Clover Leaf and the CRNRA Palisades entrance.


  • $8 million CID = $48 million total estimated project costs
  • The road widening and improvements for Windy Hill are $28 million and include design, right of way acquisition, and construction. The bulk of the funding is from Cobb County Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) dollars, with CID and Georgia Transportation Infrastructure Bank (GTIB) grant dollars rounding out the funding package.
  • The interchange enhancements are $20 million, which goes towards design, right of way acquisition, and construction. A $5 million contribution from the CID leveraged the additional funds need, including $7.5 million from Cobb County, $6 million in federal funding, and $2.4 million through state GTIB grant money.
