$5 billion in investment has been realized in Cumberland, of which approximately $3 billion has gone towards enhancements in public infrastructure. Many of these projects are being advanced by the CID and will go a long way to ensure the community proactively addresses its infrastructure needs ahead of growth in the market.
Although the CID is only 6.5 square miles, it impacts 5.4% of Georgia’s economy.
It makes up 36% of Cobb County’s economy.
Since the CID’s inception in 1988, commercial real estate values have more than doubled. Residential and commercial values are projected to grow another $2.3 billion over the next 8 years. Projects in the pipeline include 5,300 new residential units that will yield nearly 10,600 new residents, five new Class A Office buildings, five new hotels and hundreds of millions of dollars in commercial renovations, and nearly 625,000 new square feet of retail. This transformation will catapult Cumberland into one of metro Atlanta’s hottest markets.
