Major Construction in the Cumberland CID

The Cumberland CID has more than 20 construction projects underway within a three-mile area. These infrastructure improvements are set to improve safety and better manage the traffic congestion within the area.

Cumberland Area Projects

 

Windy Hill Road Corridor Thoroughfare Improvements 

Where: Windy Hill Road, from Cobb Parkway to Circle 75 Parkway
What: Anticipated lane closures for road work
When: Throughout the month

The project is expected to be completed by fall of 2017.

 

US Highway 41/Cobb Parkway Widening

Where: Cobb Parkway, from Windy Ridge Parkway to Herodian Way
What:
 Anticipated lane closures road work
When: 
Throughout the month, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Where: I-285 exit westbound exit ramp at Cobb Parkway
What: Anticipated lane closures for road work
When: Throughout the month, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Where: Cobb Parkway at Windy Hill Road
What: Anticipated lane closures for Lane Widening Project
When: Throughout the month, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2017.

 

Diverging Diamond Interchange on Windy Hill Road

Where: Windy Hill Road Bridge over Interstate 75
What: Anticipated lane closures for bridge work
When: Throughout the month, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

 

The project is expected to be completed by June 2017.

 

Atlanta Road Interchange Reconstruction

Where: Orchard Road
What: Closed to through-traffic, bridge demolition and reconstruction
When: Throughout the year

The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2017.

 

Windy Ridge Parkway Bridge Pedestrian Improvements

Where: Windy Ridge Parkway bridge
What: Periodic lane closures for bridge work
When: Through the month

Pedestrian access will be available by spring of 2017. Overall completion of this project is expected to be completed by summer of 2017.

The Cumberland Community Improvement District has been leveraging private investments to enhance roads, bridges, streetscapes, bicycle trails, pedestrian enhancements and recreational infrastructure which support and protect commercial value within the district.
